Garmin navifone

What are the chances of a well-respected technology firm suddenly launching a mobile? There’s literally no precedent for it. Oh…wait there is. The iPhone. But while Apple’s blower was widely rumored, Garmin’s navifone came straight out of left field.

While Nokia has dipped its toe into the sea of sat-nav and the iPhone has basic mapping and location features, navifone promises to deliver a phone with truly integrated sat-nav smart. The specs are quite speculative at the moment, but Garmins predict the iPhone sized phone with its 3.5in touch screen will have HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth A2DP.

It’ll run a version of Garmin propriety sat-nav operating system.
